Movement Removal and REASSEMBLY

Removal

The process of removing the dial and movement must be done in a clean area free of dust and dirt.

  • Remove any casing screws and clamps.
  • Remove packing ring. Note:with some watches you must remove the stem first
  • Remove stem
  • Lift movement and dial out of case
  • Insert stem in movement with a twisting action to align square of the stem and the square hole of the Clutch Wheel.
Note: Leaving the stem out can cause problems with the Clutch Wheel that are time consuming to sort out.

I advise using a latex glove of the left hand as this hand is more likely to touch something that can get marked. If you choose not to, then touch the movement and dial with the tweezers or on the very edge of the dial.

Reassembly

hmm where has that gone
